Belgian federation showcases biathlon at Olympic Festival in Middelkerke
During the Olympic Winter Games in Italy, the Belgian Olympic Committee organised an Olympic Festival in Middelkerke, bringing the excitement of the Games to fans at home. The coastal town became a hub of sporting celebration, offering visitors the opportunity to engage with various Olympic disciplines and experience the spirit of the Games firsthand.
As part of the Belgian Winter Olympic Team, the national biathlon federation was represented at the festival with an activation stand dedicated to promoting the sport. A shooting range equipped with two “Biathlon 4 All” laser rifles was installed, providing a safe and accessible introduction to biathlon shooting.
The initiative proved to be a great success. Visitors of all ages were keen to test their skills, with many discovering the precision and concentration required in biathlon for the first time. The laser-based system allowed participants to experience an authentic element of the sport in a controlled and engaging environment.
