Biathlon 4 All: A throwback to a season of activities across Bulgaria
Throughout 2025, the Biathlon 4 All programme was implemented across Bulgaria through a series of competitions and demonstration events aimed at promoting biathlon among children, families and the wider public, while strengthening cooperation between clubs, institutions and local communities.
A Biathlon 4 All competition was organised on 26 July 2025 in Berkovitsa in cooperation with the local biathlon club, sponsors, representatives of the Bulgarian Biathlon Federation and several Bulgarian biathlon clubs. Children from different clubs took part, supporting inter-club cooperation and the development of young athletes.
Later in the summer, a demonstration event was held in Chepelare, in the town centre, attracting children from local sports clubs as well as parents, sponsors and residents. The central location helped bring biathlon closer to the wider public and increased visibility for the sport. Around the same period, an event in Yundola, organised during a competition for the youngest biathletes, introduced laser rifles to children and parents, providing a safe and accessible introduction to biathlon.

In Sofia, Biathlon 4 All activities took place in two formats. A demonstration was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Sports on the occasion of the European Week of Sport, with the involvement of the Sports Director of the Bulgarian Biathlon Federation and the NSA Biathlon Club. The event was attended by numerous schools and offered many students their first hands-on experience with biathlon. Earlier, a public competition held in Sofia on the occasion of International Biathlon Day was successfully delivered despite spring rain and welcomed participants of different ages.
As the season progressed into autumn, the Biathlon 4 All competition in Raduil took place on 18 October 2025, supported by volunteers and sponsors. Participants included local residents, children from sports clubs and adult enthusiasts from various parts of Bulgaria, underlining the inclusive nature of the initiative.
The summer competition season concluded on 5 October 2025 in Troyan, where children from all Bulgarian biathlon clubs gathered for a final event marking the end of a successful period of grassroots activities.
Overall, the Biathlon 4 All programme contributed significantly to the promotion of biathlon in Bulgaria, offering fans the opportunity to participate in the sport and supporting clubs in attracting new young athletes. The results of the activities were widely regarded as inspiring and provided strong motivation for future initiatives.
