Throughout September, the Ski Association of Slovenia proudly took part in a series of initiatives marking World Sports Day, bringing the excitement of biathlon closer to communities across the country.
In every major city, public events were held where a wide range of sports disciplines were presented to visitors. The Ski Association of Slovenia was present at most of these gatherings, while also supporting a variety of smaller, club-organised activities in local primary schools.
The central aim of these initiatives was to introduce biathlon to a broader audience and inspire the next generation to take part in the sport.
Every participant had the chance to experience biathlon first-hand and received a stamp “Biathlete for a Day” together with a diploma, both of which also served as a direct invitation to join their nearest biathlon club.
The Ski Association of Slovenia believes that nurturing interest at a grassroots level is vital for the long-term growth of the sport. By working hand in hand with local clubs and schools, the Association continues to ensure that young people have the opportunity to discover, experience, and embrace biathlon as part of Slovenia’s rich sporting tradition.
