Biathlon at the heart of a football spectacle
On 19 April, during the Ruch Chorzów v Wisła Kraków match at the Silesian Stadium, fans had the chance to try their hand at the sport of biathlon. The event was supported by the Polish Biathlon Association’s partner, Superauto.pl.
It was an occasion that demonstrated the strength of cooperation between sport and business. At the Silesian Stadium in Chorzów, alongside the first division fixture between Ruch Chorzów and Wisła Kraków, a special biathlon zone was set up. It was organised by the Polish Biathlon Association together with its partner Superauto.pl, which is also the stadium’s title partner.
The match attracted as many as 53,000 spectators. Among them were many people encountering biathlon for the very first time. In the dedicated zone, everyone had the opportunity to test their shooting skills. Everything took place in a safe format, using laser rifles.
Thanks to the involvement of Superauto.pl, partner of the Polish Biathlon Association, it was possible to create a space that attracted fans throughout the entire event. The zone formed part of a wider activation organised by the company, which also prepared an area for meetings, match analysis and discussions with guests from the world of sport.
The presence of a Polish national team representative also generated considerable interest. Fabian Suchodolski, a member of the senior squad, met with fans, answered questions and explained the basics of biathlon.
“It was a genuinely interesting event. From start to finish, we had people visiting our stand and showing interest. The turnout was surprising,” emphasised Suchodolski.
The presence of biathlon at such a major football event marks an important step in promoting the discipline. Direct interaction with fans, the opportunity to try shooting and conversations with an athlete meant that many participants viewed biathlon from a completely new perspective.
The joint efforts of the Polish Biathlon Association and Superauto.pl show that modern sports promotion is built on cooperation and engaging directly with fans. The Silesian Stadium proved to be the perfect example of this.
