Biathlon attraction draws hundreds of young participants at Castelsport

The annual Castelsport event took place on 6 and 7 June in Castelnovo di Sotto, in the province of Reggio Emilia, attracting hundreds of children eager to discover and try a wide range of sporting activities.

Blessed with glorious summer weather, children aged between 8 and 12 were given the opportunity to experience numerous summer and winter sports over the course of the two-day event. Among the most popular attractions was biathlon, where instructors from the Lama Mocogno Ski School introduced participants to the sport through laser rifle shooting and roller-skiing activities.

The instructors set up two shooting lanes alongside a roller-ski agility course, allowing children to test both their accuracy and coordination. After demonstrating their shooting skills, participants had the chance to try roller-skiing and experience an important element of biathlon training.

The biathlon activity proved to be a major success, with a total of 280 children visiting the shooting range over the two days. The enthusiasm and excitement shown by the young participants highlighted the growing interest in winter sports, even during the summer months.

The event provided a fun and engaging introduction to biathlon while encouraging children to discover new sports and develop their sporting skills in a welcoming and inclusive environment.
