Biathlon brings communities together for Ukrainian Independence Day

A special Biathlon 4 All event held in Ukraine as part of the country’s Independence Day celebrations gave local residents and visitors the opportunity to discover biathlon and experience the sport for themselves.

The main aim of the event was to introduce people to biathlon, explain what makes the sport unique and, most importantly, give everyone the chance to try shooting.

More than 50 guests and local residents took part, enthusiastically combining family leisure time with an engaging sporting activity. Participants were able to learn more about biathlon, meet and interact with biathletes and experience shooting first-hand.

The event was very well received, with some participants even expressing an interest in joining a local biathlon club and taking up the sport on a regular basis.

As has become a tradition in the region, the event was organised under the leadership of coaches Roman Andriichuk and Serhii Seniuk. The regional biathlon federation continues to stand out for its creative and unconventional approach, choosing formats and locations that bring biathlon closer to the public and make the sport accessible to people of different ages and backgrounds.

The atmosphere was made even more special by the Independence Day celebrations, with many participants dressed in traditional Ukrainian clothing, adding a festive and symbolic touch to the occasion.

Alongside discovering biathlon, trying laser rifles shooting and meeting athletes, participants shared many memorable moments and received practical gifts that can later be used for learning and educational activities.

The event once again demonstrated a simple message: biathlon is fun, safe and exciting – and truly is a sport for all.
