Biathlon Federation of Serbia promotes biathlon to the wider public at the Belgrade Fest 2026

Biathlon Federation of Serbia had the opportunity to present and promote biathlon to the wider public at the Belgrade Fest 2026.

The Biathlon Federation of Serbia had its own promotional stand at the event, alongside a number of other Serbian sports federations and sports organisations. The event brought together visitors of different ages and backgrounds, and it was a great opportunity for us to introduce biathlon to people who may not have had the chance to experience the sport before.

Throughout the event, members of the Biathlon Federation of Serbia were present at the stand and actively involved in presenting the sport, explaining the basic principles of biathlon and interacting with visitors. The activities were carried out under the supervision and guidance of members of our Federation, who assisted visitors and made sure that everyone could safely and properly try the activity.

One of the main attractions was the opportunity for visitors to try laser shooting, which allowed them to experience one of the most recognisable elements of biathlon in a simple, safe and accessible way. Visitors were first introduced to the equipment and given basic instructions, after which they were able to try shooting themselves with the assistance of our team.

Anđela Pavlović, General Secretary: "We had a very nice response from the public throughout the day. Several hundred visitors approached our stand, either to find out more about biathlon, watch the activity or participate themselves. There was particularly strong interest among children and young people, but many parents and other adults also wanted to try the shooting and learn more about the sport."

It was especially encouraging to see families participating together. For many of the visitors, this was their first direct experience with biathlon, and the interactive format made it much easier to explain the sport and show them that biathlon can be both competitive and fun and accessible to everyone.

Anđela Pavlović, General Secretary: "We also had many visitors asking questions about biathlon, training and competitions in Serbia, which was particularly encouraging for us. It gave us an opportunity to explain more about our activities and about the possibilities for children and young people who might be interested in starting to train biathlon."

"We believe that participation in events such as Belgrade Fest is very valuable for the further development of biathlon in Serbia. Being present alongside other sports federations gives us an opportunity to increase the visibility of our sport and reach a much wider audience than we would through competitions alone."

For the federation, it was also a great opportunity to present biathlon in a completely different environment — directly in the centre of a large public event, where people could discover the sport spontaneously and experience it themselves.

The organisers were very happy with the interest and reactions received during the day, and believed that this kind of direct interaction with the public can play an important role in attracting new and younger generations to biathlon.
