The 2026 edition of “Biathlon dla Każdego” (Biathlon for Everyone) has concluded after a successful season of events across Poland. A total of 2,455 participants took part in 12 events, with an average of more than 200 competitors per event.

The series travelled to locations across the country between April and September, visiting Duszniki-Zdrój, Piechowice, Czarny Bór, Mieroszów, Marciszów, Kudowa-Zdrój, Ludwikowice Kłodzkie, Klikuszowa, Szczyrk, Iwonicz-Zdrój, Wysowa-Zdrój and Spytkowice.

Organised by the Polish Biathlon Association, Biathlon for Everyone has been introducing children, young people and adults to the sport since 2014. Participants compete over short running distances combined with two shooting stages using laser rifles, creating an accessible format that can be organised safely in public spaces.

The initiative forms part of the “Popularisation of Biathlon among Children and Youth” programme within Poland’s National Biathlon Development Programme. Alongside its sporting objectives, the programme aims to encourage physical activity among children and young people and introduce new participants to biathlon.

A key element of the series is cooperation at local level. The Polish Biathlon Association works together with student sports clubs, biathlon clubs, local authorities and organisations promoting physical activity among children and young people. Local partners also provide volunteers who help deliver the competitions.

The use of laser rifles allows events to take place beyond traditional biathlon venues, including parks, town centres and other public spaces. This brings biathlon directly to local communities and gives participants the opportunity to experience shooting in a safe and approachable environment.

Competitions are open to different age groups, including adults, with running distances adapted according to the respective categories. Every participant receives a commemorative medal, while the top finishers are awarded prizes.

Since its first edition with six stops in 2014, Biathlon for Everyone has developed into an established nationwide grassroots initiative. The 2026 season once again demonstrated the programme’s reach, bringing biathlon to 12 communities and 2,455 participants across Poland.
