Biathlon inspires visitors at the 2026 Sports Festival in Sarnen
As part of the 2026 Sports Festival in Sarnen, Skiclub Schwendi-Langis hosted a biathlon activity over two days, introducing children, young people, and adults to the exciting sport of biathlon.
On Friday, local school classes had the opportunity to discover biathlon and try it for themselves. At the biathlon stand, students experienced laser rifle shooting for the first time and tested their accuracy. The activity attracted great interest, with many children enjoying the unique combination of concentration, precision, and physical activity. For many participants, it was their very first introduction to the sport of biathlon.
On Saturday, the focus shifted to a laser biathlon competition open to all visitors of the Sports Festival. Children, teenagers, and adults completed a short running course followed by laser shooting. Before the competition, participants were able to practise their shooting skills and become familiar with the laser rifles. The combination of physical effort, concentration, and precision created an exciting and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
The biathlon stand attracted a steady stream of visitors throughout both days. Many participants returned to improve their scores or challenge friends and family. The enthusiasm and positive atmosphere clearly demonstrated that biathlon is an attractive and accessible sport, even outside the winter season.
A special thank you goes to all the volunteers from Skiclub Schwendi-Langis, whose commitment and enthusiasm made the event a great success. Thanks to their support, many people were able to experience biathlon for the first time and discover the excitement of this unique sport.
