A biathlon tournament for boys and girls of the Tetiiv community took place on 4 April 2026 at Kolos Stadium (named after P. Sych) in Tetiiv, Ukraine. The event, organised with the support of the Regional Biathlon Federation - namely Ruslan Holub, Head of the Kyiv Regional Federation, and Maksym Pervoi, Deputy Head of the Kyiv Regional Federation - brought together around 50 young participants and was widely regarded as a success.

The competition featured the use of laser rifles (Kiwi Precision) and included a varied programme designed for different age groups. In the sprint races, boys and girls born in 2013–2014 competed over 2 km, those born in 2015–2016 over 1.5 km, and the youngest participants (2017 and younger) over 1 km.

The programme also included a single mixed relay event. Distances were adapted by age group: 800 m + 800 m for participants born in 2013–2014, 600 m + 600 m for those born in 2015–2016, and 400 m + 400 m for the youngest category.

Athletes representing the Tetiiv Youth Sports School and the Regional Youth Sports School from Irpin took part in the competition, demonstrating strong performances and enthusiasm throughout the day.

The head referee of the competition was Olesia Novitska, who is also the responsible person for this project in the Kyiv region. Coaches Yevhenii Novitskyi and Viacheslav Kalko were also actively involved in supporting the event.

Additional support was provided by Vladyslav Novitskyi, a serviceman and former biathlete, together with his wife and members of the senior training group.

The organisation of the event was further supported by Olena Lysiuk, Director of the Youth Sports School where the competition took place, and Volodymyr Vasiutynskyi, Head of the Education Department of the Tetiiv community.

The tournament highlighted the growing interest in biathlon at grassroots level and provided young athletes with valuable competitive experience in a supportive environment.
