Call for applications: International Biathlon Day 2026

The International Biathlon Union (IBU) is pleased to announce that applications are now open for International Biathlon Day 2026, which will take place on Saturday, 30 May 2026.

International Biathlon Day is an annual worldwide event held at the end of May. Its goal is to introduce biathlon and para biathlon to children, families, and new participants through fun, open, and inclusive activities. National Federations are encouraged to organise events such as try-it sessions, youth races, family activities, and community events that are open to the public.

All active National Federations can apply for IBU support. National Federations that did not submit required reports from previous Biathlon 4 All projects are not eligible to apply.

The IBU will provide financial and promotional support to selected National Federations. Up to five National Federations will receive the full support package, which includes a paid social media campaign, a professional photographer and/or content creator, promotional support, and event organisation support, with a total value of up to EUR 7,500 per federation.

In addition, National Federations with strong event concepts may receive other types of support, such as promotional or organisational funding, even if they are not selected for the paid social media campaign.

Applications must be submitted via IBU Scope 2.0 no later than 17 March 2026. The selection results will be announced by 31 March 2026.

International Biathlon Day 2026 will be celebrated worldwide on 30 May 2026 and will highlight the IBU’s commitment to growing the sport through the Biathlon 4 All programme.
