The International Biathlon Union (IBU) is delighted to announce that the call for applications for the “Biathlon for All” Project is now officially open. A notification regarding this opportunity has been sent via the IBU Scope platform.
Through this initiative, the IBU reaffirms its commitment to supporting National Federations in their efforts to promote and develop biathlon at the grassroots level. The project is designed to make biathlon more accessible, engaging, and sustainable by encouraging youth participation and community involvement.
Under the “Biathlon for All” Project, selected National Federations will receive comprehensive support packages, including:
Laser/optical rifle sets (rifles, targets, supporters, and mats)
Digital promotional materials
Financial assistance to aid the implementation of local development strategies
These resources will help National Federations recruit and train children and young athletes, ensuring the sport continues to grow from the ground up. The initiative is conceived as a long-term programme, encouraging federations to sustain their activities across several years while sharing experiences and best practices with others in the biathlon community.
Application deadline: 31 October 2025
Application submission: Must be completed and submitted via IBU Scope 2.0
Decision announcement: By 21 November 2025
The IBU looks forward to receiving applications and to working together with National Federations to inspire the next generation of biathletes.
Full details are provided in the Biathlon for All Guidelines, available on the IBU Development website.
