Chelsea Biathlon Laser Challenge draws participants of all ages
The Chelsea Nordiq Biathlon Club hosted a highly successful Chelsea Biathlon Laser Challenge in November in Chelsea, Canada, just outside Ottawa. Despite limited snowfall, a spirited group of 57 participants, ranging in age from eight to 60, took to the snowy forest trails to experience the excitement of biathlon.
With not quite enough snow for skiing, athletes adapted to slippery running conditions, adding an extra layer of challenge to the event. The course, though modified, offered a rewarding blend of trail running and EcoAims laser-rifle shooting - an ideal introduction to the sport for newcomers and an enjoyable test for more experienced athletes.
Organisers highlighted the enthusiasm and positive energy throughout the day, noting that the event’s success was made possible thanks to the commitment of the coaches and volunteers who supported participants from start to finish.
Chelsea Nordiq Biathlon, based in Chelsea, Quebec, continues to promote grassroots biathlon participation in the region, offering opportunities for athletes of all ages and abilities to experience this dynamic winter sport.
