International Biathlon Day was celebrated in Denmark on 27 May with an exciting Track’n’Shoot event at Herlev Atletik Stadion, bringing together participants of all ages for a fun and active competition format.

The event featured several heats across youth, junior, mixed and adult categories, with 5–6 teams competing in each race. Teams took part in a dynamic 4 x 400-metre relay combining running and shooting skills.

Each athlete completed a 300-metre run before stopping for five prone shots using supported shooting rests and standing targets. Missed targets resulted in a 20-metre penalty loop before athletes sprinted the final 100 metres to the exchange zone.

B4A Project Coordinator Kristian Wulff praised the format, saying: “Perfect setup for many people to be engaged and activated.”

The event created an energetic atmosphere for both athletes and spectators alike, highlighting the accessibility and excitement of biathlon-inspired activities while promoting the sport within the local community.
