Kazakhstan placed family participation at the centre of its International Biathlon Day celebrations, organising family races across six regions of the country. The events attracted 60 family teams and more than 550 spectators, creating a festive atmosphere and demonstrating the growing popularity of biathlon among recreational participants.

Particularly strong engagement was seen during the two-day event in Pavlodar and at the biathlon centre in Shchuchinsk, while the main races in Astana also generated considerable excitement. Families competed together in a friendly environment that emphasised participation and teamwork.

All participants received medals, certificates and commemorative sticker packs.

“This year, we wanted to focus on family values and show that biathlon is a sport for everyone, not just professional athletes,” said Assem Sandibayeva, Media Manager of the Kazakhstan Biathlon Federation.
