The Edmonton Nordic Ski Club invites the public to take part in GERBIL, the Greater Edmonton Regional Biathlon Introductory Lesson, a biathlon introductory event featuring no-risk laser rifles, held at Gold Bar Park. The purpose of the event is to offer participants an opportunity to experience the sport of biathlon in a safe and welcoming environment.
Date and Time: 19 October 2025, drop in any time between 09:00 and 15:00
Location: Gold Bar Park, near the pavilion (clearly signposted on arrival)
Cost: Free, supported by the Government of Canada’s Sport for All initiative
Who can attend: Open to everyone. The event is suitable for all ages, with safe laser rifles and an obstacle course available for children.
Duration: Plan for 30-45 minutes of activities within the drop-in hours
What to bring: Weather-appropriate clothing and running shoes are recommended
Extras: Free snacks and refreshments will be provided for all participants
Simon Gauthier, Biathlon Head Coach, will be present to answer questions about club programmes and future activities.
