IBU hosts an online meeting for national coordinators of the Biathlon 4 All project
On 25 November, the IBU Development Department hosted an online meeting for the national coordinators of the Biathlon 4 All project. The IBU team were keen to share the project's progress since its launch in 2023 and provide some recent updates. The meeting was informative and inspirational, covering best practices and practical tips.
With some new national federations joining the project, the IBU team presented the milestones, as well as the key principles and ambitions of Biathlon 4 All. A newly published video containing materials from national event organisers and the IBU's LOOP ONE Festival served as a helpful summary of the major aspects of Biathlon 4 All, including targeting children's participation, engaging with Athlete Ambassadors and organising the International Biathlon Day.
The IBU team also introduced two new pages on the official Biathlon 4 All website: the International Biathlon Day page and the Downloads page. The IBD page showcases the numerous activities of National Federations on International Biathlon Day, while the Downloads page summarises all the resources available for running Biathlon 4 All events, including logos, social media templates, posters and videos.
IBU Communication Department elevated the strong visual and storytelling potential and focuses on social media campaigns and on strengthening common messages through its visual identity, highlighting dynamic biathlon shooting challenges alongside other activities, family participation, and community events.
Apart from promotional efforts and organisational aspects, the IBU team reported on the results of the recent call for applications and shared tips on how to strengthen applications for the next call.
In the lead-up to the event, the IBU ran a quick survey to check satisfaction with the support provided, as well as to identify possible innovations and future steps. The IBU plans to expand the project next year, as it is one of the key activities under the Target2030 strategy, making our sport accessible, inclusive, and enjoyable for everyone while strengthening the future of biathlon worldwide.
Maxim Berdnikov, the IBU's Development Project Coordinator, summarised: “It is great to see that the project is gaining pace and aligning with the needs and expectations of National Federations. As an international federation, we are committed to utilising our resources to support the organisation of Biathlon 4 All activities in local communities, whether through sharing best practices, aggregating information or supporting with the necessary equipment.”
In 2026, an on-site meeting is planned for project coordinators, offering a space for face-to-face exchange and collaboration on ideas for the future development of Biathlon 4 All.
