Lebanon will mark International Biathlon Day with a welcoming, family-oriented event in the Bcharri region. Students from four local schools and their parents are invited to discover the sport of biathlon, guided by coach Huguette Fakhry. Participants will have the opportunity to try laser rifles in a safe and supportive environment, gaining hands-on experience with one of biathlon’s core skills. The day will feature inspiring talks from athletes who have competed in international and regional championships, sharing their experiences to promote the sport and encourage greater youth involvement. Families will also enjoy a traditional village lunch in nature, providing a relaxed and communal setting to celebrate this occasion. The initiative aims to introduce biathlon to new audiences, spark interest among children, and encourage parents to support their participation. By combining sport, education, and community spirit, Lebanon’s celebration seeks to grow grassroots interest and foster a new generation of biathlon enthusiasts.
