International Biathlon Day 2026 in Finland

Finland will celebrate International Biathlon Day 2026 and the wider Biathlon 4 All initiative through a series of nationwide events, biathlon schools, competitions, and public “Try Biathlon” activities organised across the country throughout spring and summer 2026.

The programme will include biathlon schools and youth development camps in Kuopio, Oulu, Leppävirta, and Seinäjoki, offering children and young athletes the opportunity to learn shooting techniques, develop skiing and running skills, and experience the fundamentals of biathlon in structured training environments.

In Kuopio, the Puijon Hiihtoseura Biathlon School will take place at the Heinjoen biathlon stadium, while Oulun Hiihtoseura will organise a summer biathlon weekend at the Sankivaara biathlon stadium featuring introductory training and participation activities for young athletes.

Additional development activities will include the “Otto Invenius Super Camp” in Leppävirta, bringing together young participants for training and skill development sessions focused on biathlon and endurance sport.

Public participation events will also take place across Finland, including running and shooting competitions, laser shooting opportunities, and Biathlon 4 All activities designed for children, families, and newcomers to the sport. Visitors will be able to try biathlon shooting at community events in locations including Hämeenlinna, Äänekoski, Orimattila, and Ylöjärvi.

In Seinäjoki, ongoing Sunday biathlon entry events at the Joupiska Biathlon Stadium will provide regular opportunities for beginners and young participants to discover biathlon through accessible training sessions and introductory shooting activities.

Through these nationwide initiatives, Finland aims to strengthen grassroots participation in biathlon, support youth development, and promote healthy lifestyles and community engagement through accessible and inclusive biathlon activities.
