International Biathlon Day 2026 in Hungary
Hungary will celebrate International Biathlon Day 2026 with a two-day event taking place on 29–30 May in Budapest as part of the National Sports Selection Days at the Merkapt Sport Center.
The programme will run daily from approximately 09:00 to 17:00 and will introduce children, families, and visitors to the sport of biathlon through interactive activities, club presentations, and fun sport experiences in a dynamic national sports environment.
Biathlon clubs from across Hungary, together with physical education teachers involved in recent development initiatives, will play an important role throughout the event by promoting the sport and providing opportunities for children and parents to discover the world of biathlon.
The event marks the first time that biathlon will be presented within this prestigious national multi-sport event, creating a valuable opportunity to raise awareness of the sport and attract new participants from across the country.
Entry to the National Sports Selection Days is free of charge, with registration available through the official event website. Visitors will be invited to explore biathlon activities throughout the weekend and celebrate International Biathlon Day together with the Hungarian biathlon community.
Through this initiative, Hungary aims to promote youth participation, healthy lifestyles, and long-term grassroots development of biathlon while strengthening cooperation between clubs, schools, and the wider sports community.
