International Biathlon Day 2026 in Kazakhstan
Kazakhstan will celebrate International Biathlon Day 2026 with a nationwide programme of events taking place from 29 to 30 May across six regions of the country: Petropavlovsk, Kostanay, Pavlodar, Shchuchinsk, Ridder, and Astana, where the main premium event will be held.
The initiative aims to connect members of the Kazakhstan National Biathlon Team with young athletes and local communities in the regions where many of the athletes began their sporting careers. National team athletes Asset Dyussenov, Alexandr Mukhin, Vladislav Kireev, and Vadim Kurales are expected to take part as event ambassadors, meeting children, signing autographs, taking photos, and presenting medals to participants.
One of the main activities will be the Family Biathlon Relay, where children and parents will compete together in a fun “Run–Shoot–Run” format combining short running sections with 10-metre air rifle shooting. The events will focus on participation and enjoyment, with gifts or certificates planned for all participants.
Additional activities will include Laser Rifle Experience zones, where children and adults can safely try biathlon shooting for the first time through games, challenges, and introductory activities.
To support the nationwide celebration, Kazakhstan will also launch a digital promotion campaign including a dedicated website for all six host cities and social media promotion through platforms such as Instagram and TikTok.
Through this large-scale initiative, Kazakhstan aims to promote healthy lifestyles, family participation, youth engagement in sport, and the values of teamwork and sportsmanship while celebrating International Biathlon Day across the country.
