International Biathlon Day 2026 in Lebanon
Lebanon will celebrate International Biathlon Day 2026 on 30 May at the Cedars Ski Resort in Bsharri with a community-focused event dedicated to introducing children and families to the sport of biathlon.
The programme will welcome children from surrounding towns through cooperation with local municipalities, regional schools, and scout groups. The event will feature the participation of Lebanon’s top biathletes together with national team coach Huguette Fakhry and members of the Lebanese Biathlon Federation.
Throughout the day, participants will have the opportunity to discover biathlon through introductory sessions and practical laser rifle activities conducted in a safe and supervised environment. Athletes who have represented Lebanon in international competitions will also share their experiences and personal journeys in order to inspire young participants and encourage future involvement in the sport.
Coach Huguette Fakhry will provide information sessions for parents focusing on the safety measures and educational values associated with biathlon, helping families better understand the sport and its development opportunities in Lebanon.
The event will also include a social gathering featuring local food and community activities, creating a welcoming atmosphere for children, families, athletes, and visitors.
Through this initiative, Lebanon aims to promote healthy lifestyles, youth participation, and grassroots development of biathlon while strengthening connections between athletes, local communities, and the next generation of winter sports participants.
