North Macedonia will celebrate International Biathlon Day 2026 on 30 May with the event “Biathlon for All – Discover the Thrill!” taking place at the winter sports centre in Krushevo.

The event aims to raise awareness of biathlon in North Macedonia, inspire young people to engage with the sport, and strengthen the local winter sports community through inclusive and educational activities.

The programme will include an open “Try Biathlon” day featuring free introductory sessions with laser rifle shooting, basic biathlon technique instruction, and safe, child-friendly activities designed especially for youth and families. National athletes and coaches will provide guidance and demonstrations throughout the event.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to attend a “Meet the Athletes” session, where North Macedonian biathletes will share their experiences, training journeys, and insights into the sport.

A mini cross-biathlon competition for youth and junior athletes from local biathlon clubs will take place alongside fun mixed relay races involving athletes, guests, and members of the public.

The event will also include federation and community information booths, distribution of printed and digital educational materials about biathlon, and a digital campaign featuring athlete spotlights and social media activities under the hashtags #B4A, #Biathlon4All, #biathlonworld, and #BiathlonMK.

The initiative is organised in partnership with the School Sport National Federation of North Macedonia and local media partners. Following the event, the federation plans to continue activities through a “Biathlon Open Week” programme offering information about beginner courses, athlete development camps, and future participation opportunities.

Through this celebration, North Macedonia aims to promote healthy lifestyles, youth participation, inclusion, and long-term development of biathlon within the country.
