International Biathlon Day 2026 in Norway
Norway will celebrate International Biathlon Day 2026 with three youth-focused events taking place between 30 and 31 May in Lillehammer, Oslo, and near Trondheim. The activities will be organised for children and young athletes under the age of 15, with the aim of promoting biathlon through fun, active, and engaging experiences.
Events in Lillehammer and Oslo will feature athletes from the Norwegian national teams acting as athlete ambassadors, joining participants for training sessions, demonstrations, and interactive activities throughout the day. The event near Trondheim will also focus on youth participation and may include a visit from a former national team athlete.
The programme at all locations will combine elements of a traditional biathlon training camp with additional games, social activities, and entertainment designed to make the sport more accessible and enjoyable for young participants. Activities will include introductory shooting practice, movement and coordination exercises, and group training sessions adapted for children and beginners.
Through these events, Norway aims to inspire the next generation of biathletes, encourage healthy and active lifestyles, and celebrate International Biathlon Day together with local clubs, athletes, and communities across the country.
