Slovenia will celebrate International Biathlon Day 2026 on 30 May with a public event taking place at BTC City Ljubljana, outdoors in front of the Odiseja cinema.

The event will run from approximately 11:00 to 17:00 and will focus on promoting biathlon among children, youth, families, and the general public through interactive and accessible activities in a lively city-centre environment.

Throughout the day, visitors will be able to take part in the Biathlon Circuit, where participants of all ages can test their speed, accuracy, and concentration through running and laser shooting activities. Participants will compete for a place among the five best results of the day.

At approximately 14:30, the top participants will qualify for a special final challenge against members of the Slovenian national biathlon team, creating a unique opportunity for visitors to compete directly with elite athletes.

The programme will also include a “Meet & Greet” session with Slovenian biathletes from around 15:00 onwards, giving visitors the opportunity to take photographs, receive autographs, and interact with athletes.

Additional activities throughout the day will include equipment and club presentations, activities with the federation mascot Jurček, a wheel of fortune, group photo opportunities with the national team, and a social media challenge where participants can attempt “5 perfect shots” to enter a prize draw.

Through this event, Slovenia aims to promote healthy lifestyles, increase awareness of biathlon, and inspire new generations of participants through fun, inclusive, and community-oriented activities as part of the global International Biathlon Day celebration.
