International Biathlon Day 2026 in Switzerland
Switzerland will celebrate International Biathlon Day 2026 on 30 May with two events taking place in Zug and Chur, promoting inclusion, youth participation, and public engagement with biathlon.
Special Olympics National Games
In Zug, biathlon activities will be organised as a side event of the Special Olympics National Games, which will bring together around 1,800 competitors along with supporters and spectators from across Switzerland. From approximately 11:00 to 18:00, visitors will have the opportunity to take part in drop-in biathlon activities and try laser shooting in an open and inclusive environment designed for participants of all abilities.
Youth Shooting Festival
A second event will take place in Chur during a Youth Shooting Festival involving around 400 young participants aged 10 to 20. Alongside their regular shooting competitions, participants will be invited to experience biathlon by testing their shooting skills under physical load and learning more about the sport through interactive activities.
Through these events, Switzerland aims to promote biathlon as an accessible and inclusive sport while encouraging young people and local communities to discover the excitement and values of biathlon.
