Ukraine will celebrate International Biathlon Week 2026 through a nationwide series of events and activities dedicated to promoting biathlon, healthy lifestyles, youth participation, and inclusion.

The programme will include school tournaments, family festivals, summer biathlon competitions, educational workshops, and interactive “Try Biathlon” activities organised across several regions of the country. Children and young participants will have the opportunity to take part in sprint and relay races, laser shooting sessions, and introductory biathlon experiences adapted to different age groups.

Project ambassadors and national biathlon representatives will support the initiative through masterclasses, motivational sessions, athlete meetings, and educational activities introducing participants to the fundamentals of biathlon, shooting safety, and sportsmanship.

Family-oriented events and community festivals will also feature interactive games, quizzes, relay competitions, and activities designed to encourage participation from children, parents, and newcomers to the sport.

As part of the programme, Ukraine will also organise inclusive sport initiatives focused on sports-based rehabilitation and participation opportunities for children with disabilities, promoting confidence, accessibility, and social inclusion through sport.

Through International Biathlon Week, Ukraine aims to strengthen grassroots development of biathlon, inspire the next generation of athletes, and celebrate the values of teamwork, resilience, inclusion, and active living across local communities.
