The United States will celebrate International Biathlon Day 2026 with community-focused events taking place across several regions of the country, introducing new participants to biathlon through accessible and family-friendly activities.

In Anchorage, Alaska, the Anchorage Biathlon Club will host an International Biathlon Day and season kick-off celebration at the biathlon range on 30 May 2026. The programme will include “Try-It Biathlon” activities, laser rifle shooting sessions, and community gatherings featuring a barbecue and potluck atmosphere designed to welcome athletes, families, and newcomers to the sport.

In Lake Placid, New York, celebrations will take place from approximately 10:00 to 13:00 at the Mt Van Hoevenberg Lodge and Biathlon Range. The event will feature free laser biathlon stations, .22 calibre biathlon shooting stations for participants aged 13 and above, and SkiErg activities allowing visitors to experience the physical demands and excitement of biathlon in a safe and interactive environment.

In Madison, Wisconsin, the Blackhawk Ski Club will organise a special “Biathlon Try-It” event, providing opportunities for children, youth, and adults to discover the fundamentals of biathlon through introductory shooting and participation activities.

In Boston, Massachusetts, the Harvard Sportsmen’s Club will organise a Laser/Optical Biathlon Try-It event featuring optical biathlon activities for children and .22 biathlon introductory sessions for adults.

In Bozeman, Montana, the Crosscut Mountain Sports Center will host an International Biathlon Day celebration including an open biathlon range, range safety courses, and shooting challenges designed for both newcomers and experienced participants.

Through these nationwide celebrations, the United States aims to promote healthy lifestyles, community engagement, and grassroots participation in biathlon while creating welcoming opportunities for new audiences to discover the sport as part of the global International Biathlon Day initiative.
