International Biathlon Day brings families together in Lohnsburg

Austria celebrated International Biathlon Day 2026 on 30 May at the Skirollerzentrum Innviertel in Lohnsburg with a family-friendly Biathlon 4 All event organised by ASVÖ SC Höhnhart.

On that day, many young talents in Lohnsburg had the opportunity to experience and try biathlon for themselves. Austrian biathlon legend Simon Eder also made a special visit to Upper Austria to meet and inspire the next generation of athletes.

From 13:00 onwards, participants and visitors enjoyed a variety of interactive activities, including laser rifle shooting, ski roller testing, and introductory biathlon sessions designed for beginners and families. The programme also provided opportunities to meet members and partners of SC Höhnhart and learn more about the club and the sport of biathlon.

The event took place in a welcoming community atmosphere, featuring entertainment, food and refreshments, and activities promoting participation, healthy lifestyles, and enjoyment of sport for people of all ages.
