Intro to Biathlon in Lumsden

Image

A new Intro to Biathlon programme is coming to Lumsden this March, offering young participants the chance to experience the exciting sport of biathlon through outdoor play, movement games, and safe target shooting.

Hosted by Qu’Appelle Valley Nordic (QVN), the programme introduces the fundamentals of biathlon in a fun, supportive setting. Biathlon combines physical activity—such as running, skiing, or similar movement—with target shooting, helping participants develop focus, teamwork, and confidence while enjoying time outdoors. ()

Sessions include games, skill-building activities, and beginner-friendly shooting practice using optical biathlon rifles, which safely simulate real biathlon shooting without projectiles.

No equipment or previous experience is required.

Recommended Age

Although not a strict cut-off, this programme is recommended for participants aged 7 to 13.
