Laser shooting, roller skiing and football at Denmark’s Summer Camp
Biathletes of all ages came together in Denmark for the annual summer training camp, combining a week of intensive training with plenty of fun and team spirit.
A total of 36 participants, ranging from 11-year-olds to senior athletes, took part in the camp. Throughout the week, the athletes trained together in shooting, roller skiing and running, while also living together at a boarding school.
Bad weather could not stop the action. When conditions forced the group indoors, the organisers introduced a creative challenge combining football and laser rifle shooting.
During the game, athletes played football until the whistle sounded. They then had to run to their shooting lane and continue shooting until all five targets were hit. Once they had shot clean, they could run straight back onto the pitch and rejoin the football match.
The camp concluded with a mass start, providing one final high-pulse challenge after a busy week of training.
Kristian Wulff reflected positively on the week: “All in all, a great camp for everyone – from 11-year-olds through to our senior athletes.”
It was a fun and energetic way to finish another successful summer camp and a great example of how different activities can be combined with biathlon shooting.
