Lebanon celebrates International Biathlon Day in the Cedars

On 30 May 2026, Lebanon marked International Biathlon Day with a community-focused event at the Cedars Ski Resort in Bsharri, introducing children and families to the exciting world of biathlon in one of the country's most iconic mountain destinations.

Organised in cooperation with local municipalities, regional schools, and scout groups, the event welcomed children from surrounding communities and provided an opportunity to discover the sport through fun, educational, and interactive activities.

Participants were joined by some of Lebanon’s leading biathletes, alongside national team coach Huguette Fakhry and members of the Lebanese Biathlon Federation, who helped guide activities and share their passion for the sport.

Throughout the day, children and families took part in introductory biathlon sessions and practical laser rifle activities in a safe and supervised environment. Athletes who have represented Lebanon at international competitions also shared their personal experiences and sporting journeys, inspiring young participants and demonstrating the opportunities that biathlon can offer.

By bringing together athletes, coaches, schools, and local communities, the event highlighted the growing development of biathlon in Lebanon and encouraged a new generation to engage with winter sport.
