'Since air rifle & 22 caliber rifle regulation is very strict in Korea, it was always an issue to bring in new biathletes and kids to the sport. Thanks to the laser rifles, we were able to bring in kids with no restrictions. In fact, we found out that some kids actually enrolled themselves to start biathlon to schools and clubs after the event' says Dany Choi, Korean Biathlon Union B4A Project Coordinator. KBU will continuously hold such events annually to increase the number of athletes and make the sport popular. Furthermore starting 2025/2026 season, all biathlon competitions for U-16 will run with laser rifles. Events in 2024/25 run with IBU support: 1. 2nd Chungbuk laser competition for kids (25.Oct-26.Oct.2024) Chungbuk region, 2. Gyeonggyi laser competition for all (2.Nov-3.Nov.2024) Gyeonggyi Pocheon region, 3.
