National Team athletes join community relays on International Biathlon Day in Estonia
Estonia’s International Biathlon Day formed part of the Biathlon 4 All project and centred around an engaging relay competition involving both recreational participants and national team athletes. Each athlete was assigned to a team, giving participants a unique opportunity to compete alongside elite performers.
Teams completed a 500-metre loop through the forest on kickbike scooters before heading to the shooting range. Any missed targets resulted in penalty loops completed on foot, adding an extra challenge to the competition.
The format encouraged teamwork, participation and enjoyment, creating an inclusive environment for all involved.
“Our day was filled with great energy and enthusiasm, and it was truly a very enjoyable experience for everyone involved,” said Laura Väljaots, B4A Project Coordinator in Estonia, reflecting on a successful day of community engagement through biathlon.
