The first inclusive event was held under the slogan “Overcoming diseases Together” at the Kozyavkin International Rehabilitation Clinic in Truskavets city (Lviv region) — a clinic specializing in the treatment and rehabilitation of children with cerebral palsy and autism.

In addition to the children, many parents also joined the event, creating an unforgettable atmosphere of a true biathlon celebration. Special thanks go to the clinic’s director, Nataliia Kozyavkina, whose family has become a great friend of the Federation Biathlon of Ukraine .

The Ukrainian federation engaged 90 children in the event, and each of them had the opportunity to try biathlon shooting after a masterclass led by Biathlon 4 All ambassador Dmytro Pidruchnyi.

The children had the chance to feel like real sports heroes, receiving authentic medals that were presented to every participant.

The President of the Federation noted:

“We are extremely pleased to be here today at the Kozyavkin Rehabilitation Center. This is a very special group of children, and we came here to show that biathlon is accessible to everyone. Our coaches and world champion Dmytro Pidruchnyi are making this master class, teaching children how to shoot with laser rifles. This is part of our broader mission to promote sport and make it inclusive.”

In addition to the President of the Federation, the event was also supported by the Federation’s Secretary General and Honored Coach of Ukraine, Nadiia Bilova, who actively contributed to the organization of the event.

In addition to the children undergoing rehabilitation at the clinic, performers from the vocal and variety ensemble of the Volodymyr Ivasyuk School of Arts also joined the event. Their incredible performances added a festive spirit and joyful atmosphere for everyone present.

"The aspect of socialization and rehabilitation through sport is extremely important, because biathlon is truly a sport for everyone. Anyone can do biathlon! That is why we want this sport to be accessible to all," - said Lily Budzulyak, B4A Project Coordinator in Ukraine.

Representatives of the Kyiv city Federation also took part in organising the event:

  • Oleksii Kravchenko — coach of the Ukrainian National Biathlon Team

  • Mariia Kravchenko — youth sports school coach

  • Nataliia Kravchenko — biathlon coach and international-category referee

  • Dmytro Pokhylyi — physical education teacher

This event once again proved that sport has the power to unite, inspire, and help overcome challenges together. Through initiatives like this, we continue building an inclusive sporting community where every child can feel supported, confident, and part of a big biathlon family. Together, we are making sport accessible for everyone and creating unforgettable moments that motivate children to dream, believe in themselves, and move forward with confidence.

Biathlon unites!
