Ruhpolding to celebrate International Biathlon Day on 14 June

Biathlon fans of all ages are invited to join the celebrations as International Biathlon Day comes to the Chiemgau Arena Ruhpolding on 14 June 2026.

Taking place from 10:00 to 14:00, the event will offer visitors a unique opportunity to experience biathlon first-hand at one of the sport's most iconic venues. Designed for families, sports enthusiasts, and newcomers alike, the programme will combine sporting activities, athlete interaction, and behind-the-scenes access to the renowned arena.

Throughout the day, visitors will be able to take part in a “Biathlon for All” experience, try different shooting disciplines including laser rifle, air rifle, and small-bore shooting, and enjoy a series of short exhibition races showcasing the excitement of biathlon competition.

Participants will also have the opportunity to join free guided tours of the Chiemgau Arena, offering insights into the venue that has hosted numerous Biathlon World Cup events and international competitions.

Adding to the occasion, several German biathlon stars, including Franziska Preuß and Simon Schempp, are expected to attend a special autograph session, giving fans the chance to meet some of the sport's most recognisable athletes.

With refreshments available throughout the event and activities designed for all ages and ability levels, International Biathlon Day in Ruhpolding promises to be a celebration of sport, community, and the growing appeal of biathlon.

The event is organised under the banner of the International Biathlon Union's Biathlon 4 All initiative, which aims to introduce biathlon to new audiences and encourage participation around the world.
