School Biathlon Tournament held at Kyiv Lyceum
On 19 February, a School Biathlon Tournament took place at Lyceum No. 216 in Kyiv, bringing an exciting and innovative sporting event to local pupils. The competition was conducted using Kiwi Precision laser rifles, ensuring a safe and engaging experience for all participants.
The tournament aimed to promote biathlon among schoolchildren and to encourage greater involvement in physical activity. By introducing pupils to the fundamentals of the sport in a supportive environment, the organisers sought to inspire long-term interest and participation.
Prior to the competition, a masterclass was organised and opened to all interested participants. The session involved 10 coaches and teachers, who provided guidance and practical instruction. A total of 36 students took part in team relay activities, giving them the opportunity to experience the dynamic and cooperative aspects of biathlon.
The session proved both informative and highly positive. Many of the children tried biathlon for the first time and embraced the challenge with enthusiasm. The atmosphere throughout the event was lively and upbeat, with pupils actively engaged and clearly enjoying the experience.
The event was organised under the leadership of Natalia Kravchenko, a biathlon coach, and Mykola Bashmakov, a biathlon coach and physical education teacher, whose efforts ensured a well-coordinated and successful occasion.
