School Biathlon Tournament held in Kyiv as part of Biathlon 4 All initiative
A school biathlon tournament featuring Kiwi Precision laser rifles was held on 30 April at the European Collegium in Kyiv as part of the Biathlon 4 All initiative.
The two-hour event gave children the opportunity to discover and try a completely new sport in an engaging and interactive environment. The programme began with a workshop introducing the basics of biathlon shooting, before continuing with relay competitions between the students. In total, 55 children took part in the event.
“The children were extremely impressed that coaches who work with national teams came to visit them, and that they could take part in a master class led by such professionals,” said Lily Budzulyak, B4A Project Coordinator in Ukraine.
The event was supported by a team of four coaches: project coordinator and coach Maria Kravchenko, coach and head referee Natalia Kravchenko, national team coach Oleksandr Kravchenko, and national team coach Oleksii Kravchenko. Physical education teacher Dmytro Pokhylyi also played an important role in helping to organise the tournament.
The European Collegium expressed strong interest in hosting similar events in the future, underlining the positive impact and educational value of the initiative.
At the end of the competition, the children were presented with trophies, creating a genuine atmosphere of excitement and friendly rivalry. Organisers said they look forward to continuing the cooperation and believe such initiatives can deliver meaningful and lasting benefits for young people.
