On Saturday, 25 July 2026, the "Sommerolympiade 2026" took place in Antholz Biathlon arena – a fantastic event organised by FISI South Tyrol, which brought together various winter sports.

In the morning, anyone interested was able to try out several winter sports, in which sled runners and skis were replaced by wheels. Visitors could also virtually cycle up a mountain pass on an ergometer, test their reaction time at the starting gate and have their speed measured using a photoelectric barrier.

In the afternoon, the starting signal was finally given for the relay race comprising five disciplines: running, cycling, an obstacle course, biathlon and inline skating. A total of 64 relay teams lined up at the start. The relay race was open to skiers, snowboarders, freestylers, cross-country skiers, luge athletes, ski mountaineers and biathletes.

Over 240 participants and spectators tested their marksmanship with laser rifles at the shooting range. The shooting proved particularly popular among the well over 200 participants under the age of 15!

Barbara Ertl, B4A Project Coordinator in Italy:

"It was a very successful day dedicated to sport, in a fantastic atmosphere and featuring thrilling competitions, many of which were only decided in the final few meters."
