Taiwan hosts 2025 Autumn Biathlon Event with international expert support
Taiwan successfully held its Autumn event, marking another step forward in the development of biathlon in the country. The event formed part of a year-long effort to expand participation and strengthen training structures for young athletes in a non-winter sports environment.
As part of the programme, the federation invited Canadian biathlon expert Mr Ian Murray to provide professional support. During his visit, Mr Murray delivered a specialised seminar and led a five-day training camp for emerging junior athletes. His work focused on enhancing technical skills, improving coaching methods and preparing athletes for international competition.
Following the training camp, Mr Murray is set to accompany Taiwan’s junior athletes to the IBU Junior Cup, where he will guide both coaches and competitors throughout the event. This will be the first time many of the athletes gain direct experience of the international biathlon circuit.
B4A Project Coordinator Vincent Yang emphasised the significance of this year’s progress, stating: “2025 has been a year of achieving things we had not done before, and each step has contributed to the growth of biathlon in Taiwan.”
The Autumn event represents a continued commitment by Taiwan to provide development opportunities and establish a stronger foundation for biathlon in regions without winter sport traditions.
