Winter Sports Day brings young athletes to Pievepelago

The Giornata degli Sport Invernali (Winter Sports Day) took place in Pievepelago, Modena Province, on Saturday, 30 May. The event was organised by the Liceo Scientifico per gli Sport Invernali (I.I.S. Cavazzi) in collaboration with the Comitato Regionale Appennino Emiliano (CAE).

Children and teenagers were given the opportunity to experience a range of winter sports activities and gain an insight into the disciplines on offer. At the biathlon range, participants tested their accuracy with laser rifles and demonstrated their skills on roller skis. By combining the shooting range with the SkiErg machine, young athletes were also able to simulate biathlon shooting under physical exertion.

Around 100 children and teenagers aged between 8 and 18 attended the event, travelling to Pievepelago to take part in the activities.

The day proved to be a great success, providing an enjoyable introduction to winter sports while also offering valuable information about the Scientific High School for Winter Sports and its educational programmes. Organisers were delighted with the strong turnout and the enthusiasm shown by participants throughout the day.
