Winter Sports Day in Rome encouraged youth participation in biathlon

A Winter Sports Day held on 23 January in Rome successfully introduced young participants to biathlon, as part of ongoing efforts to promote physical activity among children.

The event, organised by Brighetti Maria Antonia, brought together 22 participants under the age of 15, including 15 boys and 7 girls. No older youth or junior categories were involved, keeping the focus firmly on younger age groups.

Set up as a dedicated sports event, the day provided a structured and engaging environment for children to experience winter sports. Cross-country skiing was the central activity, offering both a physical challenge and an opportunity to develop coordination and endurance.

The programme was supported by four volunteers and two qualified coaches, ensuring that participants received guidance and supervision throughout the day.
