The Regional Competition "Young Biathletes of Chernihiv Region" took place on 1 March at Chernihiv City Park, bringing together young athletes from across the region for a day of competition, skill development and community spirit.

A total of 88 participants took part in the event, including 53 boys and 35 girls, competing across the 2011–2012, 2013–2014, 2015, and younger age categories. The competition was supported by 25 judges and coaches, who ensured the smooth organisation of the races and encouraged the athletes throughout the day.

The event demonstrated the remarkable resilience and determination of the local biathlon community. Although the athletes' training school has been completely destroyed, the young biathletes continue to train on its grounds and remain committed to developing their skills. Their dedication is reflected in the growing number of children participating in regional competitions each year.

As part of the awards ceremony, gloves received through the Biathlon 4 All project were presented as prizes to the winners, recognising their achievements and supporting the continued development of young athletes.

The competition once again highlighted the strength of grassroots biathlon in the Chernihiv region, providing valuable racing experience while inspiring more children to become involved in the sport.
