Young biathletes from four nations came together in Zlatibor, Serbia, on Sunday, 16 August 2026, for a Biathlon 4 All children’s competition featuring running and laser rifle shooting.

The event took place at the Obudojevica parking area, where a temporary laser rifle shooting range was set up for the competition. Despite particularly hot weather and challenging conditions for both athletes and organisers, the event delivered an enjoyable competition and a positive atmosphere while promoting biathlon among young participants.

A total of 41 athletes from four nations were included on the start list, with 27 athletes starting and successfully completing their races.

The programme began with training at 16:15, giving the young athletes an opportunity to familiarise themselves with the course and shooting range. Racing started at 17:00 with the U14 boys’ sprint, followed by the U14 girls, U12 boys and U12 girls.

The U14 athletes competed over three 1,100-metre loops, while the U12 categories completed three 600-metre loops, with laser rifle shooting incorporated into the competition format.

The event concluded with a prize-giving ceremony, celebrating the performances of the young athletes and rounding off an afternoon of international youth biathlon in Zlatibor.
